I keep having the same nightmare. I am standing in my bedroom practicing, and a black bowling ball falls from the ceiling and crushes my violin while I am doing some stupid sevcik exercises. I think this is an absurd, childish dream, but I feel worried every time I think about it.

I have been listening to Viktor Tretyakov a lot lately. I have recently acquired a group of 10 CDs labeled "Brilliant Edition" (or something like that). He is interesting to listen to. Sometimes his recordings are very good, and other times, I cannot bare to listen. Some one who I respect said that Tretyakov was his favorite violinist, and that his recordings are not very good, and his playing live is incredible.

There are some live recordings within the 10 disc set (I assume from people coughing and applause at the end) which are absolutely amazing.
