Amazing. I'm very happy for him. One of my favourite violinists, and that recording is absolutely world class.

I follwed that link, but just about wore out the scroll wheel on my mouse getting down to the right category.

Congratulations on the award. Since his was the only nominated album I own, I'll take this as confirmation of my impeccable good taste :)

Thanks for posting the link to all the Grammies. I never knew that there were so many categories. I guess I'll start listening to recordings of Ehnes, but I really think that Lang Lang should have won a prize for something.Re the nonclassical music awards: I was glad to see Ricky Scaggs,Bruce Springsteen, and Aretha there as winners.

Congratulations to James Ehnes. Now that he has won a grammy, I also hope people will reconize it in his home country and go out and buy it.

I heard Ehnes play the Scottish Fantasy last weekend, and it was so good that I almost passed out. Every note was perfect, clear, in tune, and lovely. His musicianship is stellar, his taste exquisite, and his sound gorgeous. Good for him.

I think James Ehnes is better! I am very pleased that he won a Grammy, I hope he wins the Juno he was nominated for this year too.

Woo hoo! I, like Anne, recently heard his SF performance and second everything she said. I was so drained afterwards that I could only sit in my seat in a daze through intermission. What a musician!

i collect his recordings and everyone is a treasure

ive always said of the violinists playing today repin ehnes kaler and kavakos are the best, i think ehnes is the most musical of all them, its quite possible he is the greatest violinist since rabin who was for me the best ever recorded

hopefully this will help make him a household name

Good for him, I just went to see him perform the Scottish Fantasy in SF not long ago, first class all the way.

Scott,

I agree with what you're saying and I believe he is more musical than Rabin. He definitely worked hard in his youth especially during his years with Ms.Thomas. It is really paying off now.
