The Sun's Birthday

Published: Mar. 23, 2008 at 6:38 PM

i thank you God for most this amazing

i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's birthday;this is the birth
day of life and love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any-lifted from the no
of all nothing-human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

here's a poem.

i remember biting the ass
off my first chocolate rabbit.
i guess i was like 6.
yes about 6.

it was hollow inside
at 6 i was surprized
hollow as a stump
hollow as the vacuum of space
in space no one can hear you scream.

I like Jim's poem better. Who wrote it?

Well, he or she is obviously very observant. If anyone deserves Obama's federal funding for the support of the arts, it would be that poet.

Why the sigh Emily? Sighing for beauty, for frustration?

Osama artzbux won't go to anyone who needs them. That is, not to anyone who wouldn't get it someplace else if he wasn't around. You can bank on that.
