Concert tickets!

I’m so excited! The Washington Performing Arts Society just published their concert schedule for 2007-2008. Subscribe early and get a better price. Sometimes you have to subscribe early because tickets for a really popular artist sell out quickly. I just subscribed to the following:


  • Yo Yo Ma with Kathryn Stott (piano). I never turn down a chance to hear him.

  • Kathleen Battle with a children’s gospel mass chorus and a jazz pianist. She will sing gospel and jazz songs. I heard her give a similar performance a few years ago, and it was the most exciting concert I had heard in a long time.

  • Sir James Galway and Lady Jeanne Galway (flutes). I heard Sir James a few months ago and he blew me away.

  • Joshua Bell with Jeremy Denk, piano. JB!! Wow!! Would you believe that this ticket cost only $40?

  • Lang Lang, piano. He is a sensational young pianist from China. I love his CDs, and I’m looking forward to hearing him in person.

  • Itzhak Perlman with Rohan DeSilva, piano. No comment necessary.

This promises to be a fantastic concert season.
