Rostropovich with Ananta Makhal in Calcutta

Hi to all, this is Michael, a member of v.com for some time now. Well, friends, I have created an account and profile of my father (Mr. Ananta Makhal) on behalf of him at v.com. He hardly understands about websites and internet is like an alien thing for him. My father is a Violinist and Conductor, he worked with all the professional orchestras of India at his time when those orchestra were active. Now the time has changed and we don’t have any active professional orchestra in India except Delhi Symphony Orchestra, I shared that with you earlier.

Here, I would like to share a photograph of Mstislav Rostropovich with my father and two of my father’s students. This is a priceless moment of my Dad’s life; Rostropovich actually visited my Dad’s school in Calcutta and spent a good time with him and his students. He was an adorable man. In current days, it is difficult to believe that such ace musician visiting India, but during my Dad’s time, there were many World Class Musicians visited India and even performed with Orchestras like Calcutta Symphony Orchestra and Bombay Symphony Orchestra.
