![]() The Cello Tradgedy-The Newest Shakespere PlayDecember 15, 2006 at 11:33 PM My cello has undergone a terrible tradgedy. Is that how you spell that? Anyways I am an un experienced player. Today I took my cello out and my D string had come lose for some weird reason. I was just on vacation for 2 weeks. So my D string is lose and I have never ever changed a string in my life. And for those of you who don't play cello, the D string is the one farthest back. And probably the hardest one to change, and I'm trying to salvage the string. So there is that story in a nutshell. Is there a phobia for being hit in the face from whiplash of a string, especially a thick one? If you would like to donate to my grand piano fund which has a total of $33.98 please contact me. I'm only joking, kind of. From Rachael Hobb
What do you mean? The D is the 2nd highest string on Cello....C is the thickest and lowest....

I'm not sure if there is a phobia. But I think the correct term might be Celloitis.

Richard, LOL! But you're a little off - celloitis is the inexplicable urge to begin playing a cello when you're in close contact with other cellists in an enclosed room for an extended period. What Daniel has is omigodI'msoscaredthisstringisgoingtoflyinmyfaceophobia. Very lethal condition. Disrupts sleep patterns and creates erratic behavior such as head jerking and performing with safety goggles.Posted on December 16, 2006 at 3:19 PM Daniel, good luck to you and your sick D string. ((I was so freaked out the time my G string snapped on me that I continue to have dreams about breaking strings.))
