Been listening to a lot of Joshua Bell, his Kreisler album, the Romance of the Violin, his Mendelssohn and Beethoven. Maybe others don't like him, but I find his tone as clear as a bell, and very soothing. I have not seen him in action so I don't know about the gyrations, etc. But I do like what I hear. My other Mendelssohn album is ASM, and she does too much improvising. Now that I'm studying Mendelssohn, I'm going to cut back on listening to anybody, so that I can have my own sound.
