Dallas to Chicago the Quest Continues

August 30, 2006 at 1:04 AM

Went from Dallas (DFW) to Chicago (ORD) with no problems on a American Airlines. I did about 20 minutes of Pizzacato in airport and people really looked at me funny :)

I helped a hispanic family from Mexico board, pickup their luggage and I called their son in Chicago to come pick them up (he was caught in traffic).

They spoke no English. My 12 weeks of tax payer paid Spanish training in the Army really paid off LOL.

Looking forward to practicing tonight. Listened to Suzuki CD's on my IPOD on the plane. (Left my sync cable/charger at home UGH!).

That's it for now.

Oh and people think I'm insane to ask for a 1/2 sized, black violin with carved lion head for Macalah so far 4 Luthiers have turned me down.

:)

Do you have status on American to pre-board? I fly AUS to SJC periodically, and the overhead bins are usually full by the time I get to board. MD-80s aren't that generous with the overhead bin space in the first place, anyway. Would be nice to take my violin along, but I'd be afraid it'd end up getting gate checked.

No I don't have status in American. I borded on group 4. I did make sure to get on as soon as I could. Once I had to leave it in the overhead bid by aisle 12, when I was sitting in row 20, but no biggie.

I don't find a gate check to imposing, as you'll get it when you get off the plane, but that's a personal thing I think. I've not had to gate check it yet.

My suggestion would be to get in line early and pick a seat at the back of the plane so you can be in group 2 or 3.
