When Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) was 13 in 1822 he wrote his first violin concerto for violin + string orchestra :

thanks for reminding us, Bram, it is a quite beautiful concerto and also reminds us what a young genius Mendelssohn, much like Mozart earlier, was, to compose such music at 13 years old.
