Here the 2th violinconcerto of Benjamin Godard, a pupil of Henry Vieuxtemps. From the latter his 1th vcelloconcerto with musicnotes. Sometimes it is so high that it seems a violinconcerto with the violinkey's in the bar. I played it on 1-4-2006 with Stephanie Prenn.

Benjamin Godard (1849-1895) violinconcerto 2 opus 131 Movement 3 : Allegro non troppo

Henry Vieuxtemps (1820-1881) Cello concerto 1 movement 1(begin) : Allegro moderato

Henry Vieuxtemps (1820-1881) Cello concerto 1 movement 1(end) : Allegro moderato movement 2 : Andante

Holst Double-vc + Barber vc

July 16, 2009 02:50

This spring I played the doubleviolinconcerto opus 49 of Gustav Holst , who is more well known of The Planets. It is written in 1929, so quite modern. Here the sheetmusic of the doubbleviolin/piano reduction. Also modern is the violinconcerto of Barber of 1939, I played earlier in England. The last page half page in the 3th movement  is played so fast that I have to count how much notes are played very second.

Holst, Gustav mvt1+2 doubleviolinconcerto

Holst, Gustav mvt3 doubleviolinconcerto

Barber, Samuel violinc. mvt1 Allegro

Barber, Samuel violinc. mvt2 Andante

Barber, Samuel violinc. mvt3 Presto in moto

Apart of this do not forget to listen to the rare 1th violinconcerto of Josef Foerster, Czech composer (1859-1951) I gonna play this piece with an orchestra in the Czech republic this summer !
