![]() Lalo (violin)Concerto Russe op.29, Norwegian Fantasy + violinconcerto Opus20August 7, 2008 at 11:08 AM OK we all know Symphony Espagnole op.21 of Eduard Lalo (and his celloconcerto), but he wrote 3 other good pieces for violin and orchestra: Lalo (violin)Concerto Russe op.29, Norwegian Fantasy + violinconcerto Opus20.Personally I think Concerto Russe is even better than Symphony Espagnole. De Sarasate wrote (Jopseph Gold had that letter) that he liked violinconcerto opus 20 of Eduourd Lalo more than his violinconcerto opus 21 Symphony Espagnole. Just like with the 6 Paganini-concerto's I made 2 video's of Lalo with the best fragments. Sometimes lyrical and sentimental romantic, than strongly orchestrated bursting-out with forto passion. Judge it and compare it with Symphony Espagnole opus 21 (easier to find on YouTube, because it is more wel known): Lalo (violin)Concert Russe op.29 Lalo Norwegian Fantasy + violinconcerto Opus20 From carlos majlis
Lalo had also 3 fine piano trios, a SQ and a v.s.that almost nobody knows andPosted on August 10, 2008 at 3:24 PM never play live. And his ballet "Namouna" is just splendid (Debussy dixit). About his violin works, Ricci had fantastic recording of all. Strongly recommended. This entry has been archived and is no longer accepting comments. |
