I love Vieuxtemps too, especially the vc #1, #2 and #4. Thanks for sharing these videos.

YouTube is going to give me clinical depression one of these days. Oh, I know there's SO many violinists that are so much better than me ... but it's just plain depressing when you realize they're ten years old.

*Sigh*

Violin playing is like running half a marathon. There are a lot of people running faster and younger, but there are also a lot slower than you. So most of the time you are an average runner and an average violinplayer and it is difficult to be the best or to come into the top.

You can’t compare. Just can’t. It’s a sure way to mess your playing by comparing or even listen to someone younger but better than you are.

Bram, I like the 2nd mvt of #7 too but #4 is still my favourite.
