![]() Gypsy music during a meal after a concert with 3 violinistsMarch 21, 2007 at 11:49 PM I went to a concert of Helberine Hylkema who played with a pianist some chambermusic with a violinfriend.I knew her because she was the soloist in the Glazunov violinconcerto with an amateurorchestra in Groningen in the north of our country.![]() There we met in the audience another amateurviolinists with his wife who also plays in several orchestra's and after the concert he invited us to eat at his home. While they were cooking I played with a cd sonata's of Henri Vieuxtemps, my favorite composer op.22 and op.53. During the meal he played Romanian gypsy music with the cd he was turning and I gave him 5 euro under the ebony thing of the violin where you have to press your lefthandfingers. ![]() He also had played that music in an Italian restaurant, while people were eating, like a real gypsy. Bram, did you play the same music he did on his violin after you put the money under the fingerboard? You often have photos of beautiful young women (hotchix) violinists. I can see from your photos the reason why. You're such a handsome violinist. I don't know the word similar to hotchix which would describe men.

I played Vieuxtemps from sheetmusic together with the Vieuxtempscd (I know his Vieuxtempcd well and have turned it often). My violinfriend played gypsy music without having sheetmusic from hearing it from a gypsycd and he also played with that gypsycd(he knows that gypsycd well and have turned it often).
