The way they play: Michael Rabin

June 20, 2006 at 11:04 AM

There is something magical about great violinist dying young, like Josif Hassid, Ginette Neveu, who crashed with an airplane and violinist Michael Rabin, who died at 36. The condition of his car was perfect,as you can see in a foto, just like his playing or like the condition of his instrument. He took the rubbish through his f-holes of his violin with rice, as you can see in a foto in the book (3) : "The way they play" from author Samuel and Sada Applebaum.
Someone consider Michael Rabin as the best violinist ever (till now)in the discussion on this website.

Hey Bram, that is a cool find!

My son is a motor-head as well as a fiddle player, too!

Does anyone besides me always find that something about his appearance is always vaguely unsettling? He doesn't set me at ease somehow.

He seems to me to be a perfectionist in every aspect of his life. The pictures do look a bit staged, but I wouldn't be suprised if he was like that away from the cameras.

I think if anyone saw a picture of my room they would know that I definately am not a perfectionist.
