I told about my weblog to a woman in one of my amateurorchestra's and she told she had a foto which I could possible use. First it was a jpg of 500 kbyte, but with the help of a college with adobe professional, I could reduce the size to make it suitable for my blog. The brooch is placed on a sheet with angels, so it looks like a real angle plays this amberviolinbrooch.

During an orchestral rehearsal of the 4th symfony of Nielsen (rare piece I like that) yesterday, I suddenly got hair over my violin. First I thought I broke a string, but that makes more noise. It was my bow of 225 euro, I bought some months ago, that was broken. I didn't play forte, but a piano tremolo or a slow note. But I had another reserve bow so I could play further.

Yesterday I saw Joshua Bell on a sundayevening for half a full concerthall. So, “world famous violinist” (that sort of language they use in concertreveiws in mewspapers) does not mean he is populair amongst broad layers of the population. I have seen André Rieu in Maastricht and Dusseldorf in Germany playing for thousands of people. So Sydney, perhaps you have to get Rieu and Bell in one show to make it interesting for Oprah, because Rieu, a former average first or second violinist of a professional orchestra, has more the status of a pop-or sporthero or televisionpersonality, which is interesting for Oprah. Perhaps it will give an interesting conversation between Bell and Rieu and Oprah.
Oké back to the concert. He played great, but he loses a lot of hair on his bow. In between he had to remove the pieces of horsehair and made a remark about it. After the concert I got his autograph and I gave him -as a standard ritual for my crusade for rarities- several copies of cd’s like 1,2th v.c of Donhanyi, v.c of Faure, Lalo v.cop.20 and v.c 29 Concerto Russe, Lipinski 2,3,4 and Ysaye violinconcerto posthumus arranged by Jacques Ysaye, etc and a bottle of Bach-wine, Saint-Saens-wine and Vieuxtempsbeer. He said about the v.c’s that he really appreciates that. And he was astonished there was also a v.c of Ysaye (it will be released by cpo in april 2006, played by Albrecht Breuninger). I forgot that one and I had to go back to my car to give it to him. He was dining there with his crew and was very happy with it. A total different attitude compared to Julian Rachlin who accept my bag with v.c’s and sheetmusic and walked away without saying anything. I said I would sent a lot of sheetmusic I am now scanning in pdf of these v.c’s and sent it to Leah his manager.

I just went to a violinconcerto of the Korean woman composer Unsuk Chin (born 1961)who also get flowers. Her violinconcerto was played by german violinist Viviane Hagner. Is she a candidate for beauty in music or do you think, if you had heard her, that also her music is beauty. Ok I am in a hurry beause I have a stringrehaersal for symfonie 5 of Bruckner. But the picture are more important than my text.
Her wensite is: http://www.vivianehagner.de and she has 2 violinconcerto's on her repertoirelist I didn't know: Stamitz and Pintscher.

The finalist of the last Queen Elisabeth competition, the Hungarian violinist Antal Szali has a website http://www.antalszalai.net . Do you like it? I do. He has 4 recorded cd's. One with the world premiere recording of the first (of the 2)violinconcerto of Leo Weiner and a world premiere of a piece of Leopold Auer, a well known violinteacher from the past, as far as I know.

OK Eric I understand it:
But I don't have the copyrights of this foto and I thought that earlier the young owner removed this foto by herself, because she is a bit uncertain about herself, which is normal at that age, so perhaps she will order me to do so the same.

For Eric: I found Dutch violinist/violist Isabelle van Keulen
on beautyinmusic
http://www.beautyinmusic.com/artist_pages/isabelle_vankeulen_p.htm
with this foto, but I missed Janine Jansen and Lisa Ferschtman, so I sent them an email.By the way: I spoke to Isabelle after a concert and she had never heard of the unrecorded violinconcerto of prince Nikolaj Youssoupow, a pupil of Henri Vieuxtemps. I found this name Youssoupow in an English music encyclopedia. I found recently his violonconcerto in a library and made copies and a scans of it. A colleague on my work made with Adobe professional of these scans a pdf-file of 700 kb. After printing this piece of 11 pages all notes were clear and of good quality. Who wants it and with which orchestra are you gonna record it, so I can add this violinconcerto-cd to my collection in the (near?) future?
