![]() Autographs on cd’s (part4) of Vengerov and Tjeerd TopNovember 21, 2005 at 11:40 AM Vengerov is the sort of player who like to play the evergreens violinconcerto’s. When I heard him (with my parents) he played Beethoven v.c with own candenza and Sinfonia Concertante of Mozart. He is a good showman and good violinist, but like Hilary Han who recorded Meijer and Barber I don’t think he will ever record much ‘rarities’. So a bigger chance that Hilary Hahn will ever some of my list of never recorded violinconcerto’s.![]() ![]() Dutch national competition winnerTjeerd Top was interested in rare violinconcerto’s and liked the 3th v.c. of Jeno Hubay and the 2th v.c of Castelnuovo-Tedesco (played by Heifetz) and the v.c of Korngold. Also the 1th v.c. of Benjamin Godard and the v.c of Heinrich Willem Ernst, which he puts on his repertorelist- but will he ever play it someday in his life?- are both recorded by Aaron Rosand. But he is quite serious. When I and a violinfriend of an amateurorchestra decided to go to a concert of André Rieu in Germany and got no answer after several mails, I rang him up. First he thought I made a joke, but when I told him we were serious he suddenly broke off the telephoneconversation. I think he was offended. No respect for the greatest violinist of the world, André Rieu, also from Holland. Tjeerd Top website is: http://www.tjeerdtop.com/indexframese.htm and he gave me his cd of composer Carlos Michans with autograph and text: (This cd) for Bram, thanks for all copies of less well known violinconcerto’s. ![]() From Julie C.
Wow, he looks kind of like Michael Tilson Thomas.
