I'm playing Barber Violin Concerto 3rd mov. today, for the first time, and I've never heard it with piano before. Thankfully, the accompianist is awesome and I think he'll be fine. As long as I keep counting... I'll be fine. I think. Anyway, I've got two recordings, Hahn and Shaham--and surprisingly (I'm a huge fan of Shaham) I like Hahn's better, she does it up to tempo. She does it for real. Shaham changes stuff and makes it quite a bit slower than it's meant to be. Which is, haha, what I'll be doing today but... I'm not Shaham. :)

This college stuff is killing me. I'm a senior in HS. I've been looking for teachers in London lately, because I am hoping to be accepted to one of the conservatories I've applied to there. It's... so stressful. Especially not being there yet, actually able to see the process at work, and meet teachers in person. I've lately been told David Takeno is the teacher to go for, the head honcho at Guildhall. I've also written a couple of you teachers in London. If anyone has helpful information for me--college age orchestras/chamber ensembles available outside colleges, physical therapy-kinesieology places geared toward musicians--by all means please send me an email. :) I will be staying in the Chingford area my first year. Other than that, the only thing I can say is... this college stuff is really killing me. :P
