I be burned out again.

Funny how all I just want to do is take a day for myself. People with 'normal' 9-5 jobs do their thing during the weekdays and then leave their job at the office and come home to two whole days that are their own. Wash the car, mow the lawn, play with the kids, watch a movie or two, and let it go, you know? Sometimes violin seems never-ending. I'm scared of stopping my practicing and becoming a fat, worthless blob. I guess you can't hold on to it forever, and such is the nature of getting older.

Student update on Brevard: both of my kids got accepted with scholarships and both are going. I'm so freakin' happy for them! I really hope they have a fantastic summer and have amazing opportunities and make some awesome friends.

I am making a small journey to San Francisco next month. I'm way excited. I've never been to California before. My awesome girlfriend has lived there before and I get to just go along for the ride and take a huge amount of pictures. Speaking of pictures, the pursuit into amateaur photography is going well, albeit expensive! I picked up a Canon 70-200 IS f/2.8 last week and I have the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 on order, but it won't get here until NEXT monday. Thank you, slow-boat-to-china shipping. I hate waiting. My camera bag is getting smaller with these new additions and I'm rather irritated as I'm going to need a NEW bag to fit the bigger lenses. Gah.

There are some good auditions out there right now, but I'm not in a financial position to take them until my house currently sells. Need to pay off those dang lenses -- heh. I'm getting really sick of playing/practicing audition excerpts over and over again. I kinda just want to learn some other material for FUN. Fun? What's that? Hmmm.... anyway, the Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms sonatas are all amazing, of course. I have no pianist that would collaborate nor do I have any plans on doing a recital, so it makes things difficult for me not having a set date to finish something by.

Orchestra is orchestra. Not much new. We have this week off and then it's pretty much go-go-go until the end of the season. Joy. I bug out to California the day after our last concert. Then I get back and have about 3 weeks to rest up and pack for Brevard. I should leave here on the 11th or 12th, arriving on the following Saturday or Sunday. I don't know specifically when I need to be there yet. I can't remember if they send me something or if I have to browse the web site for that information. Meh!

Gonna go dream about camera lenses. Mmmm!
