VIOLIN 2009 - Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium - PROGRAMME of the candidates 1st Round

Programme of the candidates
In the first round, candidates will give a recital with piano accompaniment of approximately 20 minutes. They will perform works or extracts from works chosen by the jury from among those proposed.
Each candidate must prepare the following works:
- A sonata for solo violin by J.S. Bach, chosen by the candidate from the sonatas in G minor, A minor, and C major.
- The Concerto No. 1 by B. Bartók.
- Three caprices by N. Paganini.
The Competition’s official pianists are Scott Faigen, Thomas Hoppe, Tobias Koch, and Eliane Reyes.
The names of the 24 semi-finalists will be announced on Saturday 9 May at the end of the evening.
