I need good luck vibes for my recital: Bach Double Slow MovementOctober 17, 2009 at 5:58 PM I need some good luck vibes, will be playing the bach double slow movement (2nd violin) shortly with my teacher for recital. My goal is to have fun and really enjoy the music. Also 1. Land all my shifts accurately, no sliding around 2. Use as much vibrato continuously as my fingers will tolerate 3. Watch the dynamics, remember who's playing the melody 4. Bring out the moving notes more 5. Please don't miss those harmonic notes 6. Don't count wrong and come in at wrong places. From Anne Horvath

Posted on October 18, 2009 at 10:20 PM It was unbelievable. I did much worse than I thought I would! I made a few mistakes, but carried on. My vibrato sucked. Shifting was okay, intonation was okay. I had the super nervous bow bounced that I have not experienced since my first ever recital a year and a half ago. I also realized that it's easier to play faster movements. I didn't realize bach double slow movement is that difficult to perform! Many nice people congratulated me afterwards, i was so embarassed. But I learned alot!! From Kathryn Woodby
Posted on October 19, 2009 at 5:13 PM Firt time I performed this piece my duet partner did not show up. My teacher filled in and it was one of the best performances I have ever played. I think I was too keyed up to do anything besides play the music! Sorry yours didn't go as well as you hoped; hope you have more chances to play this beautiful piece. I know how hard those slow movements are! This entry has been archived and is no longer accepting comments. |
