I don't know if it's the "best" slow movement. Why do you think so? I like it though. Both these composers have a nice and real recognizable personal style that carries through most of their works. I always wonder if that kind of thing is cultivated or if it's unavoidable for them, or maybe just easiest for them. Ok All violinconcerto's of Paganini have a recognizable style. But this slow part moves me more than the slow parts of his other 5 concerto's, perhaps because it is dramatic or the theme or lyric melody is good. But that is personal. I think it is better than the much more often played and recorded an easier to find on Youtube 1th Paganini violinconcerto.
For some reason the 4th violinconcerto is seldom played and recorded, I think because people don't know enough repertoire. Soon I will place more of Paganini so people can compare different parts of his concerto's.
Of the cd with the 3 Borodin symphonies (3th unfinished) I think witin his style the 3th movement of his 1th symphony is the best part he wrote.
A composer like Beethoven wrote during his life in more different styles. First Mozart, than his more romantic style and than with quartetsatz more atonal-look alike.
