Greetings,
sorry,I don`t have the youtube thingy? Did you mean Ballade and polonaise is relatively unknown? I play it all the time and teach it to my stdunets when ever possible. It wa sone of my favorite works tolearn at music college. There is an excellent, albeit truncated, recording by Huberman.
Cheers,
Buri

I did not know the piece. I have never heard it in concerthalls. I found out that violinists Maud Powell, Arthur Grumiaux and Ruggierri Ricci has recorded it. They have those cd's in the big Rotterdam musiclibrary http://www.muziekweb.nl.
They have in that musiclibrary 12 cd's of the 5th violinconcerto's of Vieuxtemps, his most played piece nowadays.
But now I know also opus 38 because of the existence of Youtube!

Hi Bram, this month Misha Keylin is recording the op.11, op.22 #3 (Vieuxtemps made the orchestration himself...beautiful!), op.35, op.38, & op.56. More to come after this of course, we are doing the complete works of Vieuxtemps.
