Thanks, Laurie. We have a good friend who retired recently from the Army Band. She had studied bassoon at Peabody. The military bands/orchestras are good gigs for musicians. The colleagues are excellent, the pay is good, and you have time for other activities. All of them look for string players. However, I think they tend to be a well-kept secret.
