I've been unemployed for years, and I'm sick of people telling me that it's because I'm not looking hard enough for a job or because I'm being too selective about getting a high paying job. One person even asked me whether I've found a job that's good enough for me yet. I suppose people who are employed don't understand unemployment. I find some of their comments rather insulting. Do they think that I really enjoy running out of money or that I'm too spoiled or too dumb to do anything about it? You should move to America, try to lose the accent and just have a normal life. Either that or go east and become king of some former Soviet state or some little split off country. It's good to be king. It's good to be an American too. It would be even better to be an employed American. To America?

National health care I suspect right after the next election. But you know, as soon as you get hired you get insurance. Well, there's a bit of a lag time to insure won't get treated and then quit... I have been out of work for nearly four years, and have only been able to secure two jobs along the way, with the same pay I had earned in 1979. Where I live in America, the jobs remaining are not living wage positions that will hire an older worker as myself. I too am tired of people saying, take anything, when they have well paid husbands bringing in a living wage, and I am a single mom. Grrr
National health? I have little faith anymore that the system will help those of us at the bottom: although a born American, the people around here with Green Cards receive more help than I.
