You're really busy now. What is taught in the class on musicianship? Don't worry -- you can handle 14 plays in a short time and any other academic hurdles. I hope you find out who your teacher is soon. Best wishes in your studies. Don't worry about things you have no control over, even if being busy makes us multi-tasking types want to steer 'all' that ship, uh, immediately.

I created personalized organizers for a few of my friends and I in college, that had:
schedules.

inclement weather policy.

generous places for assignments for each class logically ordered--with enough room on calendar like objects to make them useful on the fly. (weekly/monthly) views.

exam schedules.

places for phone numbers and emails in a
separate section.

extra paper (15 or so sheets) for whatever.

They swore by their personalized day planners, and found them more useful than trying to use their computers for organizing as they were truly mobile and reliable.

Sounds like things are going well. Soon the identity of TBA will be divulged, and you will know if it the person I thought or one of the two that Anne Horvath suggested. Albert's suggestions for organizing yourself are good. Go girl! Thanks for the comments guys! The Organization thing is great! I have a copy of my class schedule in the front of each of binders as well as written into a planner (are you proud of me Albert?!) I won't know too many exams for awhile yet but I have this huge magnet (and I'm hoping dry erase!) board in front and above my desk with my computer on it so I should be set!! :D

TBA is killing me, whoever he or she or whatever multiples she comes in, is. maybe today is the day? I have to get the practice room signup sheet into the office asap (deadline is on wednesday) too so I need a lesson time so I don't book my minimal hours of practice time where I can't even go.

Happy fall! I do relate. We always joke, when we start getting up at 10 during vacation that we've "gotten on Hawaiian time," even though we've never been there!

Sometimes it feels good when something forces one into a stricter schedule, though, I think.

10??? Lucky you ;-) This reminds me a bit of ASM's story. When she became a known child prodigy, there was a period no one dared to take her as student after her first teacher passed away. Maybe you should just knock the door of the one you want to study with and say to him/her, "It'll be okay to take me as your student, you know?” Sounds like you think like me some... I found the single view with everything in it sort of like the college catalog with oomph... There were other things in them--but it's been tooooo long to remember.

I'm sure the extra paper was for when I rolled out of bed 5 minutes before class and did well to grab the book and 'something'.
