you could try a major in violin, and get some private lessons in comp. to avoid matriculation-inundation.

I would check into a double Major program at the colleges. I know Eastman has a double Major program that typically only takes 5 years to get both degrees.

Scott, snow is what happens when the tempretures are cold enough to turn precipitated water into ice crystals. Also, taking private composition lessons doesn't really give me the opportunities that I would take the composition program for but it is defnitely a good possibility to consider in terms of keeping up with composing.

Richard, I'm for sure staying in Canada for my undergrad. The composition department at UBC, U of T and Dalhousie all interest me significantly.

Oh, I know that Kelsey. I was just saying that I know some music schools here offer programs like that, why wouldn't the ones in Canada. You might want to consult your teacher to see if the college he teaches at offers a program like that.
