I LOVE the Maurers! What great people. Joanna and I were Suzuki camp pals when we were little, and then ran into each other years later at Aspen. What a WONDERFUL article, Laurie! Thank you. Hi to the Maurer family from old friends, Rosalie and the rest of the Lund family.

What a lovely couple. Wish we had someone like Mr. Maurer here. What a lovely way to learn and play

Thank you, Laurie. This is a great idea.
There are some wonderful teachers out there that I don't get to meet personally, not even for a workshop. I would love to see more bios/interviews like this one on teachers who I might not even know about because they are better known in particular circles and institutions.

Its a chance to hear how some one else interprets violin teaching and in this case the Suzuki Method.

Thank you so much for the article about James Maurer. I taught at the University of Denver in the 1980's, and was very fortunate to become acquainted with the Maurer family. Jim and Jackie are delightful and they have influenced the lives of so many people. Jim was one of the finest violin teachers I have ever had. Best wishes on his retirement!

Thank you for updating me on the quartet. I was a USC when Jim and the quartet were there. In fact, they were the first chairs in our string sections. I played viola and always wondered what happend to Martha and Paul as Martha was our vola section leader.

Again, thanks for the update.
