The Sarah Chang recording of this piece is superb. I really highly recommend it. The Strauss sonata recording is also on there, and that is amazing as well.

I think Hilary Hahn has recorded the Strauss Violin Concerto.

Hi, I have the Sarah Chang version of Sibelius. I don't collect different versions of 1 violinconcerto. People who do that and are more specialistic are Jonathan Frohnen and Carlos Majlis. I thought there was also some time ago a discussion on this site, "repertoire", about the best Sibeliusinterpretration. Some violinconcerto's I had were from violinists with a bad intonation (3 violinist on 135 cd's), so I took another version. It is great you, of the younger generation, are interested in this rarity.
