I just looked on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Polish-imported-amber-violin-brooch_W0QQitemZ5064155934QQcategoryZ110963QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and found an amber violin brooch for $75.

Ha. That looks like the same pin. It's anatomically incorrect which would bug me a little. Far better to leave the F holes off than put them in the wrong place.

Thanks Pauline, I will put the other Polish brooches on my blog. The conductor didn't didn't make a remark, but it was only a rehearsal. Some 2th violinists saw me playing and looking in the first violindesk next to me and laughed. One 1th violinist would copy that part for me and give it the next rehearsal, but I don't know if I also will play it during our concerts.
But it is unfair of Rachmaninov, because in his 2th symfony, we played together with the first violinists an unisone sweet melody, like in his symfonic dances.
