Congratulations, Emily! Sounds like you have done a great job with your kids. And the food sounds super, too.

But now you have me wondering if my teacher will expect me to play at a recital??? I hadn't considered playing in front of anyone for a long time, if ever. I'm very shy.

Arggh.

Bravo, Emily! All your hard work paid off. Now you can take a well earned vacation from teaching during the summer.

Which Beethoven Sonata? I love the cadenza in the third movement of the Moonlight Sonata.
It sounds like you're a great teacher who personally invests in the life of each student. Thanks for sharing!

Aw, you guys are sweet. I played opus 3, #2, the "Haydn". It's not terribly diffictult, but a real treat to play. Actually, all four movements are nice (go figure, it's Beethoven).

About now, I wish I got a break, but it's a seamless junction between the teaching and the cooking for summer camp. And the king salmon are running!

That reminds me of my student recital, just a few weeks ago. Everyone played so well, I was so proud! I also was working on the fugue from the Bach C minor, but decided it was not ready for prime time. So I played the "Blues" from the Ravel Sonata. What fun it was. Most liked it, but it was too "modern" for a few ears!
