Laurie, you chose a beautiful piece of music for Independence Day. Thanks for posting it. I just wrote about Independence Day, but my approach was different from yours. I'm sure we both want to wish everyone "Happy Independence Day!"

Whew ... (out of breathe after watching that). That's one Dandy of a piece for that Yankee to Doodle on. The perfect thing for this holdiay. Happy 233rd birthday America.
Thanks for posting this Laurie. Loved it!

I feel both very surprised and honoured that you have chosen my video, Laurie. Thank you!
I really owe a lot to the American people, especially Maestro Harold Weller and all FAYM supporters. I think it is an excellent opportunity to say thank you to all of them.
Thank you and my very warmest wishes to all of you!

Thank you Laurie. I'm not American and neither do we have Independence day, I really enjoyed the version of yankie doodle.

Sorry if I sound negative, but that piece is supposed to be funny and exiting, and listen to that kid I don`t find neither. Technically is good, but IMO he don't feel the work, and for that he didn't express ir like it should be. It demands sense of humor and relax, and the boy sounds too serious and tense.

Thanks for sharing yours, too, Brian, very nice!
Carlos, try listening without looking; I disagree!

Wow you take my favorite composer. I did not know it was independent day in the USA. I have op.56 greetings to America with this Yankee Doodle of Vieuxtemps on cd. I only can dream of this violinplayinglevel of this 18th year old guy.
I add here 2 favorites on my Youtubechannel of this op.17 version:

A little late, but in the spirit of 4th of July, here's an interesting performance using a baseball bat as a violin.
