Wonder if it will help me play it better

November 17, 2007 at 1:29 PM

I'm just starting on the Bach double concerto and got a little surprise. My teacher knew Henryk Szeryng, and the two of them performed the double at a masterclass in Sienna several years ago. My teached saved the sheet music, and the part I'm learning is a photocopy of the part Szeryng played, complete with his written fingering notations and various other markings. Its a pretty good inspiration to learn it right!

That's a beautiful piece of music, and getting some assistance from Henryk Szeryng will make it even better. Enjoy!

Greetings,
not Maurice Hausson by any chance?
There is a wonderful and i think quite arre recording now of Szeryng and Hausson playing together. It is very vibrant and full of dancing energy. Highly recommeded. I hope I have spelt Mr Huassons name right. He made a very good recording of Paginin 1 coupled if I recall correctly from 25 years back with a Prokofiev. Never seemd to have a big solo career for some reason. Now a teachr at the RAM. Hope I spelt his name right.
Cheers,
Buri
