Photos from Sion-Valais International Violin Competition 2006
August 26, 2007 at 1:52 AMAlthough the 2007 Sion-Valais International Violin Competition concluded yesterday, it has taken me one year to post the photos from the 2006 competition. But here they are:
From Jim W. MillerIs this where they have a jury of little kids? Is that a festive thing, or is there a point? Is the idea that what appeals to kids should be what appeals to grownups (lord, save us from that)? Or is it just a new condideration? Or do I completely misunderstand it?

Yes, they have a children's jury. The purpose is two-fold, I think. First, its educational for the kids, who get to crystallize their values. Secondly, it might help give an objective comparison to the official jury's results. Of course, there is also an audience prize for that, too.
From Eugene ChanThe William Kapell IPC also has a volunteer's jury.
