One year later.....

June 12, 2007 at 9:13 PM

Well today was the last full day of school, tomorrow there is a half day and then 4 regents. One in Global, Math B, French, and Bio. YAY!! I am almost a Junior! I have been having really extensive math review classes. Monday and Tuesday after school. Tomorrow from 1-3pm and Thursday from 8am -10 am. And then the last two days I have had it from 9-10:30 pm!

It has been over a year, over a year since I joined (and first blogged on v.com).

I am still looking for a Job, but I figure it is inevidable. Because I am automatically busy on Monday and tuesdays nights, Next year if I join the Nazareth college symphony like I was thinking about wednesdays would be out of the question. And most saturdays over the summer are an automatic no. But lately I have been soooo busy, practically every night. So far this month I have had 7 performances. This summer I got into Drivers Ed (only half the people got in) so I am busy every weekday but Friday...

My New Years Resolution Realized?

This year my New Years Resolution was to practice more. Though that hasn't yet happened. But I read on a college website to be a performance major you must practice a min. of 20 hours a week. So one week this summer (when I am not so busy) I plan on trying to practice that much in a week. I'll make sure to post my progress.

That 20+ hours will be in addition to orchestra/chamber music rehearsals, regular classes, study for other classes and a job of some sort. I did just about every minimum-wage work study job possible at CIM-answering phones, filing, handing out programs, guarding the library, painting & putting sealant on the dungeon-like practice rooms, and yes, I even got to clean the toliets. My graduate school assistantship in NC included typing library cards into the Library of Congress OCLC, collecting convocation attendance cards, and grading music appreciation tests. Anyway, it might be useful to see how much practice you can put in while you are busy, as that will be the reality in college.

Well I still have about 2 years to college. So I figure for now I will try it while I am not busy and work from there. Maybe next year (my Junior year) I will try it with my normal schedule.
