I have a snow day too!!!!

February 14, 2007 at 7:11 PM

As many people across New England I have a snow day today too! The second one in 2 weeks! I was much more excited for the last one than this one.

Today was supposed to be the first rehearsal for the pit of our school musical Once upon a Mattress and they haven't even given me music yet! Our musical is in less than a month and no rehearsals have been made yet (this is the second one canceled). Plus the cast hasn't even finished the first act yet.

In other news our orchestra's student concerto competition is over, well at least the deadline is up. I didn't audition though, though I am not even sure I should have seeing I am an orchestra member. oh well.

12 days to my 16th Birthday!!!!

It's my daughter's first snow day of the year, here near Boston. Unfortunately, MIT (where I work) is open for business. But I've been working from home instead of going in. I take public transit, and the busses are running, but still. Ugh. The snow has been falling continuously pretty much all day.

I don't want the snow days to go on too long. I believe we have one more left, and then they start adding days to school. Oswego (a town close to here) has gotten about 6 or 7ft of snow recently and their school has been closed for almost 2 weeks!! So their Easter vacation was taken away!

There is about 15" of snow here so far and it is still snowing. I just shoveled for a half an hour for one path to the mailbox. I am one of the lucky ones on the street, the plows took out about 3 mailboxes!!!

Around here (near Washington DC) we have icy road days. Commuting is miserable, and the scenery isn't even pretty. I could have worked at home today, but I didn't get a clear signal from management, so I slid into the office and found the place deserted. Aaargh!

The scenery around here is Ok, Because we live near woods there are a bunch of trees with snow all over them, and that looks pretty cool. But there is so much snow that it is basically just white everywhere you look...

I am just glad it isn't like that storm we had in April a few years ago (I think 2003?)
