This is my 4th favorite orchestral song in the world and we played it at our orchestra concerts. But now it rings in my head over and over.... But today was our last pops concert for the Fingerlakes symphony. I personally think that is was our worst, but the audience (the ones that come every time) thought it was our best. But I couldn't play at all. But the one piece I nailed was The Salut to the Armed forces. But I was glad if I was to nail any of them it would be that one. I just loved how there was clapping for like 5 minutes when the veterns stood up to their song.

Well I know it hasn't been that long, only about 4 or 5 days. But I haven't had much internet time in the past week. The parade season is really starting to pick up. And the pops concerts for the FingerLakes Symphony Orchestra are starting to wind down, the last one being on Wednesday the 12th :(. But I have been all over the place in the past few days. I am finally starting to learn the music for the pops concert... hehe after the 3rd concerts :). But I know I am much better at classical music not pops music. Because as soon as we get to our only classical piece Dance of the Tumblers From the snow madien I can play it well and I enjoy it, except for the fact that my violin went out of tune every 10 seconds.... but luckly I fixed that :).

Well yesterday was the big concert with a turn out of about 200+ people for the concert (possibly pushing 300). But unfortunetally it wasn't one of my better concerts. I got to sit next to the concert master! But it was windy and I had to flip pages with paper clips in them, how fun. Plus I have never sat on the inside so I had no "experiance" flipping pages. Well lately I haven't had to much time, nor the willingness to practice. I just have been thinking lately if the violin is the right path for me. I mean I have many more technical skills on both the piano and the tuba than the violin. But it is just the feeling I get when I play the violin you know? But I hear that students age 12 are on Suzuki book 9, when I am back at book 7. But I guess all Violinists go through this "phase" at one time or another. :).

Well today I have my second concert in the 4 concert series of the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra!!! This is just the pops series though. But I can't wait until the regular concert series starts (in sept). But other than that I have my first "concert" for the Savanahh Cellarsavers on Saturday. I can't wait. But for the cellarsavers I am playing the sousaphone not the violin. I have 2 "concerts" on the same day. I just hate that the place I have to get a ride to is 30 miles away... but whatcha gonna do?

Well today I went paddle boating with my little sister. It was fun except she always pretended like she was paddling but she actually wasn't, And she wonders why I got mad :). I went to the violin shop (most awesome place in the world) and they have expanded to like 3000 square foot showroom and a 5000 square foot workshop. It was cool. But then with the expansion there isn't the "old time" service that I used to get speaking with the owner himself. Now he has sales people that I don't even think can hold a violin correctly. I have an orchestra concert tomorrow, so excited. That is basically all that, but as a warning, if you are going to paddle boat bring a motor ;).

Well today, the forth of July is a "family day" for our family. But the thing that sucks is that it is raining here in New York, Eliminating most of our options for the day. But I am still hoping that we can still go boating (if the rain clears up) like we are supposed to. Maybe it is, as I look out my kitchen window the sun starts to appear out of the clouds! :). Earlier today when my parents went to go see my sister, I was supposed to go to the music store... but being the forth of July they were closed :(. I wanted to look at some violin solos and I also needed to get a tuba solo. His Majesty the Tuba A weird name and it is quite easy too. It is a level 5 NYSSMA, and this is my first year of tuba!!! I WENT UP 5 LEVELS OF NYSSMA MY FIRST YEAR!!!! Go me :). Well that is about it besides I can't wait for fireworks over Canandaigua Lake!!! Have a great 4th everyone!

Well yesterday I went golfing... Like not real golfing but I went with my sister and my dad to mini golf and then we hit (all together) 150 balls on the range. And I am so sore, I think I pulled something but not sure what yet though. But everytime I play the violin, thanks to this "injury", I can't play for more then about 5-10 minutes at a time. Plus I can't vibrato worth crap. But I am just hoping that the injury "clears" up by Thursday because I have a concert. But I have also been looking into good colleges for the major of "Performance in the Violin". I know where I WANT to go but I am not sure (almost positive) That wont happen. Does anyone have any suggestions of colleges? I would like it to be in the north eastern US. Thanks!

Well lately I haven't been feeling too well, and almost every morning I wake up and sneeze and or cough non-stop for about 5-10 minutes. But other then that I am good. I hate it when I am sick because then I have to wash my hands every time I practice the violin or piano, and then wash my mouthpiece after every time I practice tuba... Which is a big pain in the butt. And often disscourages me from practicing. But on the brighter side I have been practicing The unaccompianed cello prelude by bach (transcribed for violin) and I officially got the first 2 measures down and up to speed! Also latley I have noticed a decline in people on V.com. I don't know if it is just me or if it is true, because I haven't noticed a bunch of disscutions being started/answered.
