After the concert :):(

May 31, 2006 17:43

Well it is after the major band concert, and I am so glad that I didn't mess up (too badly). But I also got presented with an award (woo hoo). But it was pretty imberassing because as I stood up I knocked the person next to me's baritone almost over. Opps. But I didnt want to get up in front of everyone anyways, but he made me lol.... I say "HE" like he is evil lol (no he isn't). But it was out of the whole 9th grade for band achievment or something. But luckly now I get to write a paper on Shakespeare... fun... well I've had a week to do it lol... C'ya

Day after Orchestra, Audition, Concert Tonight.

May 31, 2006 13:28

Yesterday I had my first Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra rehursal. It was no less then amazing. I had never known that there was so much talent in such a little area. They were low on 1st violinists so I chose to be a first violinists, but God the music is sooooo hard, But i think with a little practice it should be fine. I also got contacted about my audition today, but I still and Searching for a piece, and I want to wait until after finals (only 3 more years of high school left). And tonight I have my Concert band concert. We are playing First Suite in E flat for Military band, D'eir in De, and the Incredibles. I am serving as Principal Tuba player (just dont tell anyone that I am the only one lol). But I am so nervous because I have a duet, But I personally work best under pressure. As Always I enjoy reading your comments. C'ya.

Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra

May 30, 2006 12:29

Today I am about to go to my first rehursal of the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra, I am so nervous. But they never told me to prepare a seating audition, but I think i should anyways. I think ill play a simple song.... Minuet in D by Bach.... that is an easy stand by.... But I have a concert tomorrow, for Tuba, and I am SO NERVOUS! Because this is my first duet/solo, on top of marching band Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra and practicing for a new audition, so overwhelming.

Marching in parade, ready for orchestra.

May 29, 2006 12:24

Today-5/29/06-Memorial Day.

Today I had to march in the Memorial Day Parade with our High School Marching band. I play the Sousaphone and it and it was torture, I had this 30 maybe 40 pound instrument on my shoulder and had to walk and play for 2 maybe 3 miles. This is exactally why I like the Violin sooo much more. Speaking of Violin in a week my violin turns 66 years old (it was made by the Jackson-Guldan violin company). Also tomorrow I have my First Rehural for the "pops Series" for the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra. I am also thinking about auditioning for the Livingston county Philharmonic Orchestra, they are looking for a concert master (btw concert master has always been my dream), but since it is so far I think the only way I would tavel 30 miles each way once a week (when I am in an orchestra 4 miles from my house) is if I got Concert master.... need an audition piece though... TO THE LIBRARY I GO! :)- If anyone has any suggestions email me or post a comment.... Email is violinists2004@aol.com
