![]() How to get your students to practise scales musicallyJune 22, 2012 at 11:17 AM This will seem like a shameless plug, but after years of listening to pupils’ uninspired and out of tune scales, I’ve finally created a resource to help the situation. In lessons I typically accompany my pupils’ scales at the piano, providing a rhythmic and harmonic context to help them shape and tune their scales. After many requests, I have made mp3 backing tracks to every scale and arpeggio, including chromatic, dominant and diminished versions. As well as providing a rhythmic and harmonic context, they also provide a framework for practice with three different speeds. They are available to download at www.ScaleAccompaniments.com. I’d love to hear any feedback or suggestions for changes. This entry has been archived and is no longer accepting comments. |
