November 2006Nov. 7, 2006 at 5:09 PM*phew* Got that Functions exam over with! Not to mention a good two hours of violin time yesterday. I have an hour of it done for today...but I really need two or three hours a day here. We're having the cast from the Naples Opera Company's production of Amahl and the Night Visitors over for dinner tonight...early... so I better get cracking on my school. And get that Chemistry homework done.
Nov. 9, 2006 at 8:09 PMHello.Today is yet another one of those days that I got absolutely nothing of substance done because I didn't remember THE PURPLE FOLDER. Which has all of my lessons plans in it, etc. I got a B+ in Functions, which is very discouraging because I really studied hard and hoped to get higher than my last test. Unfortunately, one of the problems I really didn't "get" I guess, and I made enough stupid, STUPID mistakes to bring the rest down (dropped minus signs, misreading, etc.) I am such a terrible test-taker. But I'm 95% sure I got a 10/10 on out quiz today, so I should be happy, I guess... grrrr. I'm just so sick of it all. I'm sick of working my butt off over every single stupid subject and then getting B's and C's. I know I'm smarter than that. I just don't know what else to do. Now, I have to go fry my brain on latin. And get another B or C. *goes insane* N
*coughhackcough*Published: Nov. 16, 2006 at 1:13 PMMy dear friends, I am afraid the good Lord has tired from my constant nagging at him ("c'mon...just this ONE competition...) and hath decided to smite my voice once and for all. I've been hacking and coughing for the last week but yesterday I had the Father of all Sore Throats and today, I believe I either have some sort of infection from post nasal drip or perhaps strep throat. Oh the agony!!! And here I am, waiting to fill my lungs with the sweet aroma of toxic fumes in chemistry lab. I'm already wheezing, I don't need HCL in my bronchial tubes along with the gunk already amassed. As I also suspect I am running a fever, I do believe I will retire early tonight...I spent all yesterday evening sipping daintily (okay, gulping noisily) at three (okay, five) mugs of jasmine tea and spent an hour in a steam bath/shower (which made me look like a sunburned tomato). Of course, I have an orchestra concert and massive solo in Offenbach this weekend. My standpartner probably hasn't been practicing it(I'm assumed to be invulnerable to disease, being the concertmaster)so I must go. I have to recover. If any of you know get-well-quick tips beside hot tea, gargling with listerine, steam baths, and two bags of Ricola cough drops (can you get high on menthol?) I would be most appreciative before I resort to removing my throat.
