My actions have finally cought up with me....

November 22, 2008 at 10:53 PM

Well as I've said before, I'm a very "rush-rush" person. That's cought up with me for the worse.

I wasn't feeling good yesterday morning, so I only went to school for the last period of the day so that I could pick up assignments and I had a commitment in orchestra and didn't want to let my chamber group down.

I couldn't read the music which was maybe four feet away from me.. It was blurry and my eyes wouldn't focus on it. I went home feeling very dizzy... I only found it in me to practice for fifteen minutes because it was hurting me and I felt so dizzy. Well I layed down and just watched tv for the rest of the night because doing anything else gave me bad headaches.

This morning, after getting out of the shower I felt so dizzy and had an imminent feeling that something was to happen and then I fell to the ground and layed there for ten minutes scared to move because I did not want to pass out or something of that sort.

I'm not sure if I've just been over-working myself, and happened to get sick with something and I'm just having a really bad time with it, or if it's something much worse.

But I definately know now what my body can take and when I have to know to stop... And now I've got symptoms like headaches, being dizzy, coughing, wanting to vomit, no energy and extremely tired.

It's cold and flu season.  I wouldn't blame your actions.  Take care of yourself, stay home if you have to, and I hope you feel better soon.

At home, we are three "teens-young adults" in college of about your age or two years older and we all noticed that in rush periods and when we do too much, we often have big head haches and sometimes, we are not hungry at all, have stomach aches and feel as if we would fall on the ground too. In science, it is so tough that our eyes often want to close during courses and we feel sleepy but one thing that helps us very much to stay awake and have concentration is green tea. BURK!!! (sorry for those who like it!) but it is very powerful in the good sense of the word even my brother who hates too natural things drink some before his exams.  But, yes, the body sends us some signals and if you ignore those, you can get very ill and since it is the winter and people are sick, it is hard to be sick and very tired at the same time!

Good luck, take care of yourself!

This is the mom in me, but it sounds like an ear infection to me. Get some much needed rest and take a break from the violin! :)

Jodi, I guess so.. I thought I probably just had flu.

Anne Marie, yes, I don't really eat or drink as much as I should. I think what started things off yesterday was being dehidrated. But I only really eat one meal a day. I ate at like 10 this morning and it's 8:30 right now and I'm not hungry but I should probably eat something...

I have had experiences similar to yours.  For me, these are inherent problems due to my body's inability to regulate  my blood pressure properly.  I deal with my problems by getting up from bed slowly and taking my shower at bedtime.  My guess is that your problems are due to having the flu and not eating and drinking properly.  Take good care of yourself.  If you continue to have these problems, you should consider seeing an ENT doctor since feelings of dizziness often originate in the middle ear.  Don't take our advice too seriously.  We're not doctors.  Be sure to take good care of yourself.

Pauline's advice is very good. I was so stubborn about taking a morning shower instead of evening shower after I got married. Then my father-in-law introduced  the evening shower and bath to me and it did wonders. It has become a ritual in our household and happy to say the in-laws are now in their 80's and I haven't got sick in years.

Thanks Pauline and Craig.

I'm beginning to think that Jodi's guess is more correct. When I woke up this morning, I touched the left side of my face and the ear and it was sore. But not like it is if you have a sinus infection. So I probably do have an ear infection.
