Historical Violin Cases: Where are they now?

June 20, 2009 at 5:47 PM

 Hi,

I'm offering a place in history to anyone providing information leading to the identification of any case belonging to a celebrity violinist of the past.

I'm researching for a follow up book to 'The Art and History of Violin Cases' which will be called something like 'Celebrated Violin Cases'.  It's proving extraordinarily difficult to establish the whereabouts of the cases of any 20th century masters such as Heifetz, Menuhin, Milstein let alone Joachim (I might have discovered his in Chicago), Ysaye, Bull, Sarasate, Kubelik etc.

If anyone knows where i can find any case with such important historical connotations, please contact me at glennpwood@yahoo.com. I'll be forever grateful!
