_I_ can do this.
I CAN do this.
I can DO this.
I can do THIS.
I can DO this.
I CAN do this.
_I_ can do this.

There are some tricky bits, but they are typically scales and arpeggios, so they aren't really that tricky.
There are some tricky rhythms, but they really aren't that bad- I just have to pay attention.
It is hand written music (no excuse for that these days!)  but it is neatly done and I can read it well enough.
I can do this.
There are some notes up in the stratosphere, but most of them are logical progressions, and even though I can't sight read up there, I have learned them and I can play all those notes with style.
There is one other second violin, so I am not hanging out there by myself.
I have the skills.
I am talented enough.
I can follow my leader.
I can read, and tap my toes if necessary.

I can do this!

I can't blame it on my dang Craigslist friends who got me into it (we formed a string trio/quartet).   I am the one who agreed to be hired to play in an Easter musical.

I can do this!

So why does it make me sooooooo   v e r y , v e r y    n e r v o u s ? ? ?

dang, i hate performance anxiety...
