That's it exactly. We just finished our state mandated tests. I could not teach my classes for almost 2 weeks. My middle school students flat out say "I don't have to pass this class. It's not on the CRCT." And now, since testing is done, this last month of school is one giant discipline headache because the students feel like once the test is done, school is over.

Yes here is where are because we decided that teaching the bottom third of the population is our most important value. Actaully it appears that the bottom third is improving but can't say much about the rest.

They forgot to teach me how to spell actually.

Corwin, you don't need to larn how to spell. We have spellcheck. You don't need to learn to add, subtract, multiply, or divide. We have electronic calculators. You don't need to learn grammar. We have grammarchek. OK, so it make a few mistakes.
