![]() Barry NelsonIm a fiddlerFebruary 6, 2010 23:28
Well, its been 16 months since i first raised a violin to my shoulder.I want to thank everyone for the help and advice thus far. i know that this site is mostly geared towards classical players, but the things Ive learned from you folks has given me the confidence to move forward. This isnt farewell, this is just a thank you for all the help and info ya'll have shared. I'll always be a fiddler..its what I love so I cant be something im not. I have such great respect for those that have chosen the classical path...I love to listen, but I couldnt dedicate myself ...so hats off to ya.
I will say this, the lessons or advice if you will, that I've learnt here has made me a better fiddler. Let us never forget, that, regardless of style, we are all brothers and sisters when it comes to our choice of instruments. Sometimes folks will say this..well,classical players are this....and fiddlers are this...straight up..I think thats BS.
Our choice of style shouldnt separate us, it should bring us closer together . Remember......even the greatest of composers drew ideas from folk music.
Thanks for listening/reading and I wish you peace and enjoyment in your music....because, if you aint lovin it...why are you doin' it ;)
